| Kristie Van Auken  Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer | Promoted to Senior Vice President in 2008, Kristie manages and directs all airport marketing and communication programs, including: air service development, branding, advertising, media relations, social media, and internal and external communications. Kristie is often invited to speak at local, regional and national conferences and forums about airport marketing, branding and social media. Kristie authors "It's a Trip," a popular airport blog and can be found on Twitter at CAKristie. | The EEOC Chair has spoken to SHRM about the increased popularity of voluntary mediation to eliminate bottlenecks in the courts and to provide faster resolution of EEOC charges. National SHRM strongly supports this effort and has had several articles appear in HR Magazine on this topic. Join us at our September meeting for an update by Loretta Feller, the ADR Coordinator at the EEOC's Cleveland Office. Loretta will provide insight on the progress EEOC has made, how mediation works, how to use the process successfully. We will also join with Loretta to do an impromptu "mock mediation" to demonstrate what goes on in a mediation. Loretta initiated the Cleveland mediation program in 1996. In addition to mediating, Ms. Feller oversees a panel of staff and external mediators, and provides mediation outreach and training. The Cleveland program has received the four national EEOC Chairperson awards and a Heroes of Reinvention Award. Employers, charging parties, and their legal counsel who are surveyed after participating in Cleveland EEOC mediations have indicated a satisfaction rate of 97%. Loretta is past President of the Mediation Association of Northeast Ohio (MANO). She also founded the Interagency Mediation Group (IMG), a shared neutrals program for federal employees through the Cleveland Federal Executive Board. Loretta holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration and Human Resources Management.
